An San Francisco-based practitioner, Manning is an Afro-Caribbean immigrant who is a licensed clinical psychologist and NonViolent Communication Certified Trainer. She has worked with individuals and groups committed to social justice in Sri Lanka, Japan, The Netherlands, and Thailand. Past clients include Stanford and Augsburg Universities.
A former school teacher in Massachusetts, Irving, who is white, was transformed while taking a class that made her confront her white privilege. Now she is racial justice educator for other white educators and author of "Waking Up White: And Finding Myself in the Story of Race." She also created the 21-day Racial Equity Habit Building Challenge.
