Battle of the Books for Coaches 2025: Home

The Battle will take place at Shanghai American School Pudong Campus on April 10th 2026 beginning at 8.30 am

THE STUDENTS

Students should read the books; we aim for them to finish all 8 if possible.

They discuss the books among themselves.

Form teams of up to 6 players per team.

THE TECHNOLOGY

Students need to be familiar with the Kahoot app. Download the app and make sure YOU are familiar with it, and then practice with your students over the next few months as it is the main tool for the ‘competition’ part of the day.

THE COACHES & CHAPERONES

We need a ratio of one adult per team on the day of our event -- e.g. you will need 6 adults if there are 6 teams from your school. Whether that adult is a librarian, assistant, classroom teacher or parent is up to you. 

Having one person assigned as soon as possible for each team to any questions, issues, or dramas regarding that team is very helpful and balances the librarian’s load.

REGISTRATION

Each student will be paying 100-150 RMB* to participate in Battle of the Books. This money is to be submitted via a QR code provided in March and we'll let you know the exact amount you need to pay in February. 

The fee will cover:

✔snacks and lunch on the day

✔participation medals and/or certificates

✔prizes of medals and other items TBD

✔other bling/swag that may include water bottles, lanyards, stickers

FYI, no fapiao's will be issued.
